Walking Journey

Today, one our first day off school(after one day), we did a lot of walking.  We got up and showered to start off a long day of journeys and discovering this massive city.  Got on the Piccadilly line and headed east to Covent Gardens stop.  We thought that this would be a jumping place during the day, but instead we found a lot of little markets throughout the streets and gardens.

These are some pictures of Convent Gardens.  There is a big square like courtyard in the middle of all this crazy traffic and buildings.  In that square, there are a bunch of markets and other fun things to do.  We went to lunch at a place where Mrs. Roberts suggested us.  She was there about 10 years ago and said it was good.  They are known all over London for Pot Pies and Fish and Chips.  Rightfully so, Libbie got one and I got the other.

Food was great!
From here we started walking to Piccadilly Circus, much like time square.  We saw this guy on the way there.

We continued to walk through Piccadilly Circus and walked to Trafalgar Square.  This had a ton of people and was pretty cool place to see.

In Trafalgar, we went to the National Gallery which is full of old paintings of all sorts.  Pretty cool if you are into that kind of thing.  It is a huge building, took us like an hour to walk around the whole building, not stopping to many times.  The view at on the front steps of the National Gallery is a great one.  To the south, it over looks the River Thames, and in between the tall buildings, there is a gap in which you see this....
That is Big Ben in the background, pretty cool picture.

From here, we took the double decker bus home, which is free for us.  That is fun as well cause you get to see the town above ground, rather than below.

Anyways, got some reading to do for class tomorrow.

Cheers

Jimmy
