Mosque and such

I haven't written much in the last couple of days because there has been much to write about.  I wrote a little bit about the culture here and some differences that you would notice if you were here.  Anyways, on Thursday we had class at 10-1 for my British Culture class. The class was missing some people because some people went to Istanbul, Turkey for the weekend for another class.  So we were limited numbers and class got out early because our teacher didn't want to start anything new.
After class about 5 of us went to work out.  We came home and made some lunch and then headed out to Harrods because some of the people hadn't seen it yet.  It was a really nice day/night with blue skies and sun during the day and a warm clear night.  We came home early because more people were going to travel this weekend.  We have people in Barcelona, France, and Turkey right now.  There is currently 8 people of 24 from our group in our flat.  It is quiet and laid back.  The reason behind this is internships start next week and people with those will not be able to travel very much because they will have to work on Fridays.  I would guess that about half of the people have internships so they are getting there last long weekend of traveling in.
Getting back to what I have done.  Thursday night we stayed in and played some card games.  Friday, the people that didn't go to Istanbul had to tour a Mosque in London.  It was on the complete opposite side of town.  We observed Friday Prayer and than had a tour of the Mosque and than had Tea with the tour guide for a Q & A session.  After this we went to a Turkish restaurant for a complimentary meal with our teacher of  our class.  We came home and were dead tired.  After laying low for a bit we headed to a local pub for a cheap dessert they offer.  However, England vs Wales Rugby was on TV so the pub was insanely packed and loud.  Turns out they were out of the dessert anyways so we just tried to understand rugby while we were there.
This morning we got up and had a huge breakfast.  It is only 4 people in our actual flat so it worked out well.  We went to get eggs, sausage, pancakes, bacon and cooked it all up.  It was literally the first good breakfast I have had since I arrived.  It was great.  Today were headed to Covent Gardens to watch some live street acts. They are always entertaining.  Tomorrow we have a busy day in that Chelsea(about 2 miles away from us) plays Liverpool in football(soccer).  We are going to head down to Chelsea and find a pub to watch the game in.  Hopefully it will be a fun atmosphere!

Today, 1 month ago, I departed from MSP airport to find my way to London.  It has been everything I could have asked for in the first month I have been here.  I technically didn't land in London until tomorrow, but I departed 1 month ago.  Time seems to fly by here.  It is unreal how much I have adjusted and learned/absorbed in the first month.  I hope that the remaining 3 can go as smoothly as this first one, with much more explorations and mastering the enormous city of London.

Cheers

Jimmy
